The BPU Supplier Diversity Development Council (SDDC) was chartered in 1997 to serve in an advisory capacity to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) and BPU-regulated companies as they relate to supplier diversity. The industries represented include telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and cable.

The Supplier Diversity Development Council (SDDC) is dedicated to forging effective working relationships between minority and woman-owned businesses (M/WBEs) and New Jersey public utilities and the Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) on matters relating to methods of reporting, measuring, and assessing the development of these relationships.
